Description
Trioday tablet is antiretroviral medication primarily used to manage HIV-1 infections in adults and adolescents weighing 35 kg or more. It is a fixed-dose combination of three active ingredients: Efavirenz (600mg or 400mg), Lamivudine (300mg), and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (300mg).
Trioday works by combining two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs)—Lamivudine and Tenofovir—with a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), Efavirenz. This triple-action formula inhibits the reverse transcriptase enzyme, which is necessary for the HIV virus to replicate its genetic material, thereby reducing the amount of virus in the body (viral load) and strengthening the immune system.
