Description
Bleomycin binds to DNA, causing strand breaks that impede DNA replication and transcription. This leads to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis (programmed cell death) in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Additionally, it generates free radicals that contribute to its cytotoxic effects.
