Pharmacodynamics :
1. Mechanism of Action: Sutekast acts as a multi-target receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). It inhibits platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFR), vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR), and other receptors that aid in tumor growth and angiogenesis.
2. Indications: Treat advanced kidney cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) after imatinib resistance/intolerance, and advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
3.Dosage and Administration: Orally - 50 mg daily for 4 weeks followed by a 2-week rest period (6-week cycle), though the 12.5 mg capsule is used for dose adjustments.
4.Side Effects: fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, hypertension, stomatitis (mouth sores), and skin discoloration.
5.Important Precautions: Patients should avoid grapefruit juice. It is not recommended during pregnancy. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, thyroid function, and blood cell counts is necessary.
